چکیده

The P300-based brain–computer interfaces (P300 BCI) allow the user to select commands by focusing on them. technology involves electroencephalographic (EEG) representation of event-related potentials (ERP) that arise in response repetitive external stimulation. Conventional procedures for ERP extraction and analysis imply identical stimuli produce responses. However, floating onset EEG reactions is a known neurophysiological phenomenon. A failure account this source variability may considerably skew output undermine overall accuracy interface. This study aimed analyze effects order minimize their influence P300 BCI command classification accuracy. Healthy subjects aged 21–22 years (n = 12) were presented with modified matrix moving specified parameters within working area. results strongly support inherent significance environments. correction peak latencies single provided 1.5–2 fold increase amplitude concomitant enhancement (from 71–78% 92–95%, p < 0.0005). These particularly pronounced attention-demanding tasks highest velocities. findings underscore importance accounting advanced systems.

Effects of resting heart rate variability on performance in the P300 brain-computer interface.

OBJECTIVE Brain computer interfaces (BCI) can serve as a communication system for people with severe impairment in speech and motor function due to neurodegenerative disease or injury. Reasons for inter-individual differences in capability of BCI usage are not yet fully understood. Paradigms making use of the P300 event-related potential are widely used. Success in a P300 based BCI requires the...

Control of a 2-DoF robotic arm using a P300-based brain-computer interface

In this study, a novel control algorithm, based on a P300-based brain-computer interface (BCI) is fully developed to control a 2-DoF robotic arm. Eight subjects including 5 men and 3 women perform a 2-dimensional target tracking in a simulated environment. Their EEG (Electroencephalography) signals from visual cortex are recorded and P300 components are extracted and evaluated to perform a real...

Automatic Recognition of Error Potentials in a P300-Based Brain-Computer Interface

An error potential (ErrP) is an innate event-related potential generated when a subject makes a mistake, and, more relevant to brain-computer interface (BCI) applications, when the BCI itself behaves differently from the user intent. For this reason, error potentials are nowadays attracting attention in the BCI field and the presence of ErrPs has been studied already in a few BCI paradigms. In ...

[A P300-based brain-computer interface].

The goal of this work was to describe a system for real-time typing controlled by brain biopotential signals. A 6 ( 6 matrix containing Russian alphabet letters and auxiliary symbols was shown on PC screen. Electroencephalogram was taken, and the P300 component was extracted (this component appeared only upon presentation of a significant stimulus). A combination of several detection methods wa...
